Hello,

Swollen feet may be due to cardiac failure or pulmonary hypertension with right heart failure or infection or anemia or renal failure or hypoproteinemia etc.

Also check the pacemaker battery it may lost over 7-8 years. Please consult your cardiologist get examined for ecg, echocardiogram.

Please get treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I had a pacemaker put in the first part of February of this year, February 2017 and am now pacemaker dependent. Pacemaker was put in after diagnosis of CHF and A-Fib; when the TEE was performed - there was a sledging of a possible blood clot showing attached to my heart wall so therefore an ablation could not be performed and instead cardiologist suggested a pacemaker. Lately, I often get swelling in ankles and feet (once in my right leg also). Usually swelling is only in my right ankle and foot but at times in both ankles/feet. Very painful to walk. I take Lisinopril, Norvasc and Toprol along with Lasix 20 mg twice daily. I do not eat a lot of salt, am diabetic....just took my vitals with BP 127/67 and heart rate of 63. Could this be related to my pacemaker?

I have had a pacemaker for almost 15 years (on 2nd one)…..have recently experienced fatigue, light headedness and shortness of breath on a daily basis and some edema in hands and feet…am 69 yo…originally had random irregular a-fib…..did not respond to meds …..a-fib was out of control so 15 years ago did heart block and gave me a pacemaker…..6 weeks ago went thru complete cardiac workup….chemical stress.echo cardiogram…blood work…all good…adjusted my sensors twice…..and was told it appeared as if I had a lazy heart…..was no longer assisting my pacer the way it has in the past……(pacer was checked twice)….have a year battery left so will be monitored closely…oh and when originally checking pacer my strip showed that my heart rare had not gone over 80bpm in the last two months…..was slightly better when adjustment was made ( set at 140)…..so what can I do ?????
