What Causes Swelling In The Feet While On Amlodipine?

I started two weeks ago taking amoldipine besylate ten mg tab. Have been taking linsinopril 40mg tab and by stool in 10 mg tab for blood pressure. My ankles and feet are swelling by the end of each day after starting the amlodipne. I have a Dr follow up next week, should I contact Dr before scheduled visit about swelling?

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Peripheral Edema is a common side effect of Amlodipine. Discontinuing Amlodipine and switching to another antihypertensive can help. If stopping Amlodipine is not an ideal option for you, using compression stockings can help to relieve the edema.
