What Causes Swelling In The Earlobe?

my boyfriend white age 28 woke up 3 days ago with a swollen ear lobe, he went to the doctor they lanced it nothing came out, gave him cephlaxine yesterday it was worse, today its even worse his ear is more swollen and his neck is red and swollen, the doctor gave him bactrim and its still not any better, the doctor has no idea whats causing this

Hi welcome to health care magic...

So far you are given antibiotic only...

Complete the course of antibiotic...

But possibility of allergic inflammation could be there and for which short term steroid betamethasone 0.5 mg can be given for five days...

Avoid excess fried and spicy food

More water

Salt water gargles done

Auscultation, lymph node palpation should be done

If needed throat swab taken for culture

Take care

Consult otorhinolaryngologist for examination and accordingly treatment
