What Causes Swelling In The Ankles When Diagnosed With Arthritis In The Feet?

My ankles swell. Not legs or toes, just ankles, especially my left ankle. I have flat feet and arthritis in my feet. I only salt when I cook no extra salt at the table. Swelling goes down at night and is worst in the evening. Wearing shoes with support helps. Blood pressure and heart rate are 140/71 pr 70 s. Good health at 68. Only Rx is lisinopril for bp and Latanaprost for glaucomaggg

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think you are suffering from congestive heart failure. I think a diuretic such hydroclorthyazide can be added at this point.

It is better to visit a cardiologist for thorough evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
