What Causes Swelling In The Ankles And Feet?

I am 85 years old and suddenly my ankles and feet became very swollen and my legs turned red. I went shopping and did a lot of walking going to several stores, could that cause my ankles to swell up? This have never happened to me before. People are telling me that it could be Gout. Please give me your opinion.

Swelling of foot can be due to a number of points so first ruled out heart by doing ECHO test and secondly check ur kidney function by doing creatanine and urea test .If you have sugar make a fasting blood sugar as well as check your uric acid level to ruled out gout.First make all investigation s then I will tell you what will be done next.
