What Causes Swelling In Eyes?

i woke up with swollen eyes. It almost looks like I was punched in the eye (but I wasn't). one eye is definitely worse than the other. Now the swelling in the worse eye has moved to form almost a sac of fluid in the inner corner of that eye. as far as i know, i have no allergies. what could be causing this and how can i make it better?

it is simply puffiness of face. no itching or other symptoms so allergy can be ruled out. In this case renal function test can be done.
