What Causes Swelling In Ears?

I always get comfortable sleeping on my side but, I have recently noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ears. There has been slight stuffiness inside my ear but not enough to distort sound. I only get the swelling when I sleep in this position. I thought I might ve been allergic to the pillowcases I used ( even though they re the ones I ve always used) so I tried different material and still had no change. I m not sure if its an allergy or not but when I massage my ears, the swelling goes down and doesn t return until the next day. What do you think could be causing the swelling?
