What Causes Swelling In Ankles?

I am a 55yr old female and only recently (6mnths) started getting swollen ankles (no pain) and tinkling in my hands and fingers at different times. I have always had poor circulation and cold hands and very occasionally my one index finger would go numb and tingly (this was rare). I am concerned.

Hi
Swelling over both ankles without pain may be non joint problem.It may be due to water retention or other causes.Consult physician who may get serum creatinine, GFR,serum proteins,sodium,pottassium checked for possible causes.
Medication can be diuretics or diet modifications
