What Causes Swelling And Tingling Sensation In The Toes And Fingers?
I have started to have tingling and light swelling in my toes and end of fingers.... I have pulmonary sarcoid that I take 7 mg of prednisone daily and 7.5 mg of methotrex weekly. (6 years). I a 56 and competitive on road biking... Wondering how I can get this to go away.... and do you believe it is related to the sarcoid or another issue. Thoughts? Deeply appreciative to your observations.
Sacrcoidosis can extend its spectrum from lungs to other organs especially skin, joints and nerves. Mild swelling of toes can be due to skin involvement or distal joint involvement. Sometimes, edema in its early form can show up as swelling of digits. long term steroids can cause distal edema that can be managed with dose adjustments. Tingling is more important here, as it warns us to get evaluated for neuropathy (Nerve involvement). Please consult your doc to rule out these conditions.
Hope i am clear. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vaddadi Suresh
