What Causes Swelling And Tendinitis Around Achilles Tendon After Taking Cipro?

I took cipro four years ago and since then have had tendonitis and swelling in and around my achilles tendon. How long will this take to go away? I keep reading that it could take up to a year for this side effect to go away. However it has been four years and my achilles tendons are still tender to the touch, swollen, and occasionally have painful twinges.

Hello. Thanks for writing to HCM.
I read and understand your question very well.
I try my best to help you in this.

As you have cipro before 4 year and you have pain and tendinitis around achilles tendon, it may be due to side effect or some small injury that you didn't notice.

I suggest you to consult a good orthopedic for this.
I hope my advice will help you a lot.
Thanks and Regards.
