What Causes Swelling And Redness On Eyelid?

My one eyelid is quite swollen and red at the lash line, it is not itchy nor is it painful. There is no discharge from the eye. There is no head in the swollen eyelid. This has never occurred before. It does not look like a style because no head. Any idea what it can be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

From what you are describing, it seems that you are suffering of blepharitis. I advise to consult with ophtalmologist as you might need eye drops containing antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications.

For the moment, I advise to:
- wash your eyes with warm water (1 part of baby shampoo mixed with 5 parts warm water). Can use ear cotton buds to wash the eyes.
- rinse well with warm water, then, immediately with cold water
- at the end, rinse with chamomile tea

Hope it was of help!
