Hi doctor. My throat has swelling and redness. And I am not able to eat any light-spicy food. I have also problem of blood-mix in stool. These problems are since 3-4 days. I have sinusitis problem since 5yrs (now not a big issue)and also problem of hyperuricemia(since 3-4 yrs )and IBS(since 3-4 yrs). I use to spend 20-30 minutes sittng in toilet two times in the morning. I had also an accident few weeks ago. Which caused little internal blood clotting near ankle. Please tell me what is real problem for blood in stool and deep redness in throat. I had undergone colonoscopy 2 yrs ago and it was normal.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Swelling and redness in throat is suggestive of infection and inflammation in the throat.
The infection and inflammation can also be due to recurrent sinusitis extending to the throat.
Discomfort while swallowing spicy food is suggestive of inflammation of the throat mucosa.
I suggest you to consult your ENT specialist for clinical assessment of the throat mucosa.
Passage of blood in stools may be due to IBS.
However, blood in stools raises the possibility of some growth in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT).
Thus, I suggest you to consult a gastroenterologist for a colonoscopy to look for any ulcer or any growth in the lower GIT.
In case no growth or ulcer is present, management will have to be done on lines of IBS.
IBS is a chronic disease with waxing and waning course.
Thus, the course has to be monitored regularly with appropriate management.

Thanks and take care
