What Causes Swelling And Puffiness Around Eyes?

My 2 year old child has had puffiness, swelling under his eyes for the last week. I have taken him to the doctor twice and they are a bit befuddled by it. They have tested his urine twice for proteins and sugars and it was negative both times. They have sent his urine out to the lab for futher testing, the results have not yet returned. It does not appear to be an allergy or pinkeye as his eyes are not red, runny, have no discharge and do not appear to be bothering him in any way. They gave him an eye exam everything appears normal, all structures and parts of the eye and eye muscles functioning properly. His ears are clear and his sinuses look fine. The swelling seems better at times, worse others, but does not seem to be connected to anything. We have not changed anything in his routine, no new soaps, detergents, foods, etc. I was hoping you might be able to suggest something to check that his doctors haven't already thought of, any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.
By what you quote your kid's doctors have rightly ruled out nephrotic syndrome which is the commonest in this scenario.
The other possibilities I could think of are -
1. Periorbital cellulitis
2. Angioedema - may occur without itching or rash
3. Tissue infiltration - ? Lymphoreticular malignancy.
I would be in a better position to help if you can upload his photo in this website.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
