Hi, I am 60 yrs old and one week ago I fell forward, down short steep hard wood stairs, about 5 of them and landed on my right rib cage with right arm under me, and my face. But my legs, particularly my left leg and ankle are still really swollen, black and blue all over and spreading down to my toes and bottom of my foot. Right after the accident my left ankle developed a golf sized ball on the top left, which then dissipated and left two knots that hurt to touch. In addition to the ankle, the front of my leg from my knee to my ankle are also bruised and swollen, still...after a week. Parts of the area are numb, and parts of the area are very painful to touch even the slightest. Now tonight, in an area to the right of my shin, which wasn t even bruised much, is turning red and is hot to the touch, and hurts. Is this a concern? Should I see a doctor? Or just keep elevating my foot with ice as much as possible? Should I be walking around in a mall or go for walks or stay off of it? Thanks, Wendy Nelson
