What Causes Swelling And Itching In Perineum?
I ve been sexually active with my boyfriend. I originally had a pain on my perineum from a cut due to lack of lubrication. I tried different remedies to fix this issue, however I began to notice a thick lotion like white discharge coming from my vagina with a slight itch. I m concerned because usually with yeast infections the whole vagina itches. Only my vaginal canal is itching( I cotton swabbed it). Now my perineum is swollen and is causing discomfort. If this is a yeast infection then I ve have the symptoms for 2-3 days now. I m also starting to feel one of my vaginal lips swell. Tonight while cleaning the area I noticed a group of blisters on the swollen vagina lip. Of course going the internet freaked me out because all signs point to herpes. But my boyfriend doesn t have herpes and he s the only person I ve been with. Please help.

There could be few possibilities for your symptoms.
1. Blisters do hint at genital herpes but they also cause painful ulcers. Also, your boyfriend need not manifest infection to transmit to you meaning, he need not show signs of active infection but still can be a carrier and it can spread to you. I do suggest that you visit genitourinary clinic to rule out herpes infection.
2. It could be an allergic reaction to anything you could be using on your privates. ( chemicals, del, inner garments etc). Do check if that is the case.
3. Yeast infection, yes, you could be right. It can be yeast infection as well which shows up as Curdy white discharge with itching. It could be trichomonias infection which can itch as well.
4. Any forgotten object ( tampon or others).
5. Lastly, could be cellulitis and pus draining out.
You must see your doctor to check it and treat it appropriately and not to ignore as it is quite hard to come to a diagnosis without clinical evaluation which is very much necessary at the moment.
