What Causes Swelling And Bruising Of Tibia And Ankle Joint?

Hello, 1 week ago today I fell down 10 cement stairs causing trauma to my left tibia. my leg swelled immediately and deep bruising followed within 2 hours getting darker and spreading around the posterior the edema has now grown to ankle and bruising has also become notable. the edema increased with dependency the pain is related to the edema more than anything. Is this a concern or is it ok to ambulate through the discomfort of the edema?

I really appreciate your concern, chances of fracture is very likely and it is advisable to get done the x-ray till then keep the leg in splint or support so the fracture part may not disturbs, hope this information helps.
