What Causes Swelling And Blisters In The Lips?

I just started having this about a month ago. My lips get swollen, sometimes just one side and sometimes both sides of my upper lip or both top and bottom. Today I saw a blister like inside top lip. The first time it happened, I went to urgent care, but the Doctor didn’t even look at my lips.
I also get the cracks on the side of my mouth.

Hello,

It looks like you have an allergic reaction leading to Allergic Angioedema of the lips. Ulcer formation can also be due to an allergic reaction. Cracks at the corners of lips are known as Angular Cheilitis and occur due to causes like iron deficiency or anemia, fungal infection, ill-fitting dentures, loss of teeth leads to folds of skin at the mouth corners, systemic diseases like Coeliac disease etcetera. So my suggestion is that you should take anti-allergics like Benadryl or Levocetrizine to reduce swelling.
Do cool compresses over the lips.
Also, get an allergy test done to rule out the allergen and avoid exposure to it.
For cracks at the corners of lips, you can also apply a thick coat of Petroleum jelly over the corners to relieve the dryness and smoothen the area.
Do cool compresses.
A low potency steroid ointment along with antibiotic ointment can also be advised.
Take a multivitamin tablet for 15 days.
Drink plenty of water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora
