What Causes Swelling An Itching In The Vagina?

I m 36 weeks pregnant, I recently began to itch in my labia minora it wouldn t last to long but it did go on for a few days what I did notice is that I was very very dry down there it s usually pretty moist as that is my norm. Last night I got pretty itchy down there so I scratched it, this morning my left labia minora was swollen and it s been bothering all day I can t walk comfortable sit or anything cause it s swollen I tried cold compresses but the swelling hasn t gone down. My husband and I have not been sexually active for several months so I know it s not anything like that I have had a bacterial infection earlier in my pregnancy and UTI infections pre pregnancy so I would like to know why it s swollen and what I could do to bring it down so I can be comfortable again

itching in vagina is common in pregnancy and it is usually due to fungal infection.The chances of these infection get increased during the later months of pregnancy due to hormonal effects.There may be superadded bacterail infection which has swollen your labia consult your doctor,who may prescribe you some antifungal/antibacterial drugs.
