What Causes Sudden Weight Gain While On Citalopram?
I ve taken Citalopram for many years without serious weight gain. But since I also began taking Losartan, my weight has increased over 30 pounds in a year. My job is housekeeping and I exercise nearly every day. Web md explained that either of these medications can cause water retention, which could explain it. Would finding a different blood pressure medication help?

Weight gain is uncommon side effect of Losartan.Rapid weight gain is rare with Citalopram.I suggest you to go for Thyroid function test like serum free T3,free T4 & TSH to exclude hypothyroidism as the cause of steady weight gain.
