What Causes Sudden Stabilization Of Oxygen Levels In The Body?

My mother inlaw has final stage copd. The doctors gave her 2 months. It now over 3 mo nths and they are looking to send her home. We were told she would oxygen 24/7 that was a week ago. Today they said her blood oxgen is perfect and she no longer needs it. She went from bed ridden to moving around a bit. How could this be possible or was there a misdiogious. This is the second time in 2 years this had happen. Even the doctors cant explain it.

Hello,

If she has COPD then it was surely confirmed by PFT and x-ray chest and if there is hypoxia then she had low oxygen .
1. hHer Arterial blood gas analysis tells what is her oxygen requirements
2. If she is breathless then she has to use Bipap and low oxygen
3. Yearly flu vaccines and regular MDI use
4. Pulmonary rehabilitation

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Chandra Shekhar
