What Causes Sudden Sharp Pain In Chest?

I just suddenly have a sharp pain in my chest. I m not sure if I should be worried about this. Although today has been a rough day. I ve no history of heart desease or cholesterol problem. The spot where the sharp pain is felt is tender. But there are no bruises and I know I did not have any injury.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Sudden sharp pain in chest without a history of trauma can be due to cardiovascular cause or due to some pleural cause (pleura is the covering of lungs).
Thus, assessment of both cardiovascular system and respiratory system is required.
I suggest you to consult your physician for clinical assessment starting with a X-ray chest, an electrocardiogram and echo cardiogram.
Any abnormality of cardiovascular or respiratory system will be assessed by these investigations.
Pleural lesions cause sudden and sharp pain.
Pleural pain is caused due to infection or inflammation of pleura.
The above mentioned investigations will help to find out the cause of pain.

Thanks and take care
