What Causes Sudden Onset Of Dizziness And Disorientation With Vomiting?

Had a quick onset of dizziness and disorientation last evening, vomited 2 times approximately 15 - 20 minutes between. While vomiting, it felt like something was in my throat and the vomit had to work its way around to come out. I was kind of choking and vomiting and swallowing it back at the same time. It still feels like there is something lodged in my throat. I have since eaten and drank fluids. Any suggestions as to what you think.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sudden onset of dizziness and disorientation with vomiting. Well there can be many reasons for this like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, inflammation within the inner ear sometimes due to infection , meniere's disease , acoustic neuroma , sinusitis , stress , anxiety and multiple sclerosis. Need not to worry. For now avoid bending forward , take steam , drink ginger green tea thrice a day and do light exercises daily. I suggest you to consult with ENT specialist for proper checkup so that there will not be any further complications. Doctor may order certain tests like CT scan , MRI , blood test , audiometry test , rotatory chair test and ECG to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may remove wax from ears , may prescribe anti emetic drug , sedatives , antibiotics (amoxicillin ) and anti allergic medications.
