What Causes Sudden Menstrual Bleeding?

I am having some menstrual bleeding (which happened for a few random days in the last few months) and is now been happening for 3 days. I am 61 and completed menopause at age 49. What kind of problem might this indicate and do I need to get it checked out. JP
