What Causes Sudden Headache At Night?

Last night at around 3:00 a.m . in the morning , I woke up with a pounding headache on the the right side of my head and the pain went until I got tired and fell asleep at 6:00 a.m. in the morning. I still have the pain but not as much as last night.
