What Causes Sudden Fainting And Vomiting?

I have had the sickness bug for three days. I haven't been able to eat, yesterday I found myself on the bathroom floor lay in a pool of sick. I must of fainted, I am feeling pretty dizzy when I walk about. Is this normal? I've never had anything like this before.
