What Causes Sudden Eyes Black Out And Dizziness When Standing Up?
Last night when my 77 year old mom stood up, she lost her sight, combined with dizziness. After a minutes she saw only a bright light.After a few seconds, her vision and eyes were back to normal.What could this be. The dizziness is an ongoing problem her doctor cannot diagnose.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sudden eyes black out and dizziness when standing up . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like middle ear infection , labyrinthitis ,sinusitis , diabetes, type 2 , high blood pressure and anemia, iron deficiency . I would suggest you to consult neurologist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI along with other test to confirm the diagnosis and ruel out other conditions . Doctor mau prescribe medicines like vasograine or may refer you to ENT specialist for sinusitis or ear problem . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics anti emetic drug . For now avoid bending forward and take ibuprofen for pain . Doctor may also refer you to neurologist .

From history it seems that she might be having problem of having postural hypotension also called orthostatic hypotension where due to sudden stand up after lying down position lead to marked fall of blood pressure leading to this type of problem.
Measure her blood pressure during lying down position, sitting position and standing position and record fall of blood pressure.
Ask her to wait for some time while sitting from lying down position and standing position.
Consult your doctor and discuss about this.
