General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

WBC count may sometimes drop when a patient has an infection. Most of the time it is a viral infection and generally self-limiting but sometimes more serious infections are the cause.
To know hour serious it is, your doctor has to work towards the diagnosis of the infection that is causing the drop of the WBC and also has to monitor your WBC count in the next days.
If the count does not continue to fall this is reassuring.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
