What Causes Sudden Cold Body Chills?

Wife just started feeling extremely cold deep all over and was shaking uncontrollably as if she was very cold. Skin feels normal or maybe a little cool. Wrapped her up in some blankets and she feels a little warmer and stop shaking. The temperature in the home is 73 degrees
