What Causes Stringy Mucus Along With Blood From Vagina While On Mirena?

I just experienced stringy mucus like discharge that was clear with red blood in it as well, what does that indicate? I have the Merina but I am not sure if this is a normal side effect, I have dealt with the clear stringy discharge when I am ovulating

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Passage of clear stringy mucus discharge which is blood tinged after insertion of intra-uterine contraceptive device (IUCD) is a normal finding.
Insertion of IUCDs may lead to increase in congestion of pelvic organs and thus mucus discharge.
In case the discharge turns yellow or green, you should suspect an infection.
In such case you need to consult your gynecologist for examination of the mucus discharge and thus its treatment with anti-microbials.

Thanks and take care
