Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

These waves that you are experiencing are called hot flushes. It is common in menopausal women. After menopause the estrogen and progesterone levels are low and the episodic bursts of another hormone called Lutenising hormone LH every 30 to 60 minutes cause thsee hot flushes. It is observed in 75% of menopausal women and is not life threatening. This symptom is common in early menopause and can continue indefinitely till even 40 years post menopause. If the problem is too distressing to you, you may consult a gynaecologist to start you up on estrogen therapy. But this therapy on a long run has its own complications. Discuss with your gynecologist the pros and cons and take a decision.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Deepti Shivakumar
