What Causes Stool Accumulation Despite Regular Bowel Movements?

My daughter has complained of stomach pain (ranging from just mentioning, mom, my tummy hurts, to not being able to walk due to the pain and thus a trip to the ER. She is 4 1/2 years old and had 2 x-rays in the past 3 months of her abdomen, of which both show a large amount of stool. She has regular bowel movements, sometimes 2-3 times/day. On both occassions, the Dr. has said she is constipated and to give her miralax. I am hesitent to continue giving it to her since she isn't having problems having a BM, and the label makes it seem like it is to produce a BM. What are some other causes of having stool backed up in a child when they do have regular BMs.

Respected user , hi
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query thoroughly .

* There are conditions in which with normal BM there is stool accumulation
as - altered gut flora mechanisms - motility related issues - malabsoption
syndrome - warms infestations - diverticular problems - trace elements
fiber deficiency in diet - others .

* Stool accumulation is actually loaded colon with residual stool not
able to propagate ahead for evacuation
* What your child getting BM is part of the total stool which should be
cleared actually without issue .

Hope this clears your query .
Welcome for any further assistance .
Regards .
