What Causes Stomachache With Odd Smell In Mouth?

Hi there,my 4 year old daughter hs a odd smell coming from her mouth(I'm guessing a metallic smell,it kinda smells like a hospital). She has complained of a tummy ache, she has a cough. My son had the same smell from his mouth about 2 weeks ago and his tummy hurt as well, but then he had a good bowlk movement and it was gone.He was left over with craked sores on the corner of his mouth that I tought was angular cheilitis. They are going away now.My daughter is still actice, eating well, drinking well etc. What is this I am very concerned?

Hello,

The cause of stomachache with smell in mouth indicates bacterial infection of intestine with reflux of stomach acid.

The primary working guidelines are:
- Mouth gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil 3 times.
- Proper antibiotic with pro kinetic agents to recover faster as per the pediatrician choice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
