What Causes Stomach Pain, Fever And Muscle Spasms When Diagnosed With Acute Pyelonephritis?
A few days ago I had severe stomach pain, fever, which led to shakes and muscle spasms I went to the ER and was diagnosed with acute pyelonephritis. All 3 of my kids are sick with fevers rash red watery eyes and little vomiting. This morning my 4 month old baby had febrile seizure so I m wondering if it s from the sickness the kids have or if maybe she to has a infection. Just thought it was strange we both experienced the same thing a couple days apart with different diagnoses
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
In your case, acute pyelonephritis may give you those symptoms. Treatment with antibiotics always yields good results. I am sure your doctor has taken care of this already.
For your kids, they are probably suffering from an infection (viral or bacterial). I will advise you take them to the doctor for examination and tests. Febrile convulsion is common in infants. However, a lumbar tap/cerebrospinal fluid analysis will be needed by your 4 months baby to exclude meningitis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
