What Causes Stomach Pain, Cramps And Frequent Bowel Movements?

My 16 year old daughter is having stomach pain, cramping, and having frequent bowel movements. The pain is not constant, it has happened for the last three nights but then subsides during the day. It becomes worse when she eats, but she still has an appetite. She says the pain is a 6 or 7 on a scale of 10, and she has a pretty high pain tolerance.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your daughter seem to be related to a gastrointestinal infection.

I suggest you use daily probiotics.

I also recommend using an over the counter option like Imodium to stop the fluctuations of the intestine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
