Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, my husband has pancreatic cancer and just finished xeloda and radiation about 2 weeks ago. My question is, he is now having some bleeding from bowels about 1-2 times a day and the pale stools. He is also still in a lot of pain in his stomach. Is this normal after treatment or could something be wrong?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history about your husband having pancreatic cancer, just finished Xeloda and radiation. He is still in lots of pain and bleeding from bowels with pale color, wants to know whether this is normal after treatment or could something be wrong. There is certainly something wrong as there looks to be stage 3 or 4 as surgery would have been most appropriate treatment. If surgery is not done means there may be an advanced cancer, and in addition radiation can cause its own complications. Have complete evaluation again by a CT scan and be under the supervision all the time.
