What Causes Stomach Pain And Gas Post Back Surgery?
I had back surgery 10 weeks ago and was in the hospital for 5 days. About 3 days after I got home I started having a lot of pain in my stomach. Not severe, but like a bad stomach ache. Anything that I ate in about 15 minutes I would have this stomach pain and begin to pass a lot of gas. This has gone on for the last 10 weeks. My PCP ordered blood tests and a stool sample. I was told that the results were ok. He then sent me to see a gastro doctor and last week he did a colonoscopy and also looked down into my stomach. He removed 7 polyps from my colon and said he secured some tissue from my stomach. The lab results came back ok. The doctor said I had diverticultis and gastritis (non erosive) in my stomach. I still wonder if I could have some type of INFECTION in my stomach or colon. I feel like I have flu type symptons. Just feel bad and my arms and neck ache. I am 70 years old and NEVER had anything like this. My back surgery went great and I am doing fine. I have no energy and am still very constipated along with stomach pain. Could I have an infection and they not know it. What should I do ?? Could the doctor be missing something ?

HI If you weren t checked for an H pylori infection in your stomach you need to be tested for that since it can be eradicated with antibiotics If that s not the case you probably have irritable bowel syndrome that can be treated with medications and a proper diet
