Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, for many years I have been having Nexium because I have Gerds. Last month, my Pharmacist gave me Omeprazole DR instead. He said that that is the generic of Nexium. When I take this medication I feel a minty taste and I have pain in my stomach like for one hour. Do they have the same drugs?. Something is affecting my stomach.
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.
Seems to be almost same medicine but sometimes there is a problem with one batch of the drug. May be some mixing with other chemical drug ingredients during manufacturer. It is an issue with generics. I preferably suggest you to consult back your Pharmacist for Nexium. Discard this generic and don't take it any more.
Hope I answered all of your health concerns . If you have further questions, feel free to contact me anytime. In the start of your question write my name, and I will get back to you in no time. If satisfied, please click you found it helpful.
Have a wonderful time ahead.
Best Regards!
