What Causes Stomach Discomfort In The Evenings?

Hi Doctor, My wife, age 62, is experiencing some stomach pain/discomfort in the evening, not immediately after dinner and not before dinner with an empty stomach. She takes her daily walk after dinner without any issue. But an hour or two after dinner, she starts experiencing some pain, not sharp pain though. It started three days ago. She can t figure out why.

Hello,

Possible causes for stomach pain after eating may be due to acid Peptic disease, irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel problems or dysentery or gallbladder or liver problems etcetera.

Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid spicy food and caffeinated drinks. Use tablet Pantoprazole before breakfast for one week.

If Symptoms do not improve, please consult your doctor who will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
