What Causes Stomach Discomfort After Previous Xiphoid Process Tenderness?

After a night of drinking, I noticed the next day a tender spot by my xiphoid process. In addition, after I have eaten, I have felt an upset stomach on occasion. The tenderness in the Xiphoid process has subsided but I get a feeling like I have something in my stomach when I m sitting down. I can t feel any masses and there is no abdominal pain.

Hi.
Read your history and understood your concerns.
The swollen tender xiphoid process means there is costochondritis of the area and this increases on alcohol consumption.
This necessarily is treated with local injections if you have acidity related problems.
This is to be confirmed by upper GI endoscopy and if there is gastritis or so, you will be started on a PPI, antacid and Domperidone and other medicines as per your Doctors thinking and experience.
IF there is no gastritis or so, you will be given anti-inflammatory and oral steroid for complete recovery.
