Hello - About 2 months ago I commenced a Healthy Eating Plan with Slimming World. This necessitated a change in diet (particularly eating much more fruit - which I do not normally do!) Periodically then I would have cramps in my tummy and diarrhea on some days.

About 10 days ago I was away for a break in a hotel and had eaten quite a bit of fruit and other items i would not normally eat. On the Saturday morning I had diarrhea and cramps and then started to pass blood - BRIGHT RED.

Last Monday morning i went straight to my GP, with a sample of feces and a urine sample.

She examined my tummy and did a rectal examination - she could not see or feel "anything unusual"~

By Tuesday my faeces was back to normal (just a few tiny cramps before passing a motion each morning)

I had blood tests done - my Liver F. Counts are the best they have been in 10 years.

My haemoglobin is 14.2. U & E - normal E.S.R. - REDUCED from 12 to 5

(With the weight loss my arthritis is so much more under control)

My stool samples have all returned "negative" to gastroenteritis and salmonella.

What would your opinion be - should I go for a colonoscopy to see if there are polys or any cancer?

Would the lab tests detect anything sinister in the faeces from the 2 samples sent?
