Hello I changed my diet to a clean eating diet. In March is did a 3 week cleanse that consisted of juices that I made in my juicer. It included fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. Ever since I stopped my cleanse and went back to regular food my stomach has not been the same. I have stomach cramps and diarrhea immediately after I eat. This happens especially if I have sugar or dairy. I have anywhere from 3-4 BMs a day. Someone told me its because I got rid of all the bad gut bacteria and now when I try and introduce it I get sick. Could it be IBSD (Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea)? Could i have a virus? Thank you for your help and time.
Diarrhea with abdominal cramps after eating sugar or dairy suggests lactose intolerance. Other possibilities are diverticulitis or chronic infection in intestines. It needs to be ruled out by stool analysis,USG abdo and breath test.You may consult gastroenterologist in that regard. Your detailed medical history will be required to rule out possibility of irritable bowel syndrome. Once lactose intolerance is ruled out,you can use probiotics in itself or like curd to help re-establish your intestinal flora. If you were on juices for long time,you must introduce the regular food gradually from semi solid to solid.
Further specific management depends upon the diagnosis estanlished through above investigations
