Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Since Mirena is a hormonal device, removal causes withdrawal bleeding. The amount of bleeding depends on the endometrial thickness present prior to the onset of the bleed. Cramping is mostly an after effect as the uterus contracts during the process. You may use an uterine anti-spasmodic for relief. To reduce the bleeding you should use styptics and and report the matter to your gynecologist for proper management. If there is no respite, you may need hormone supplements to arrest the bleeding. Avoid using tampons to know the exact amount of bleeding and also to reduce cramps and chances of infection. Hope your query has been answered. Wish you good health.
