Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 8 year old daughter has been saying that her tummy has been hurting on and off all day. it hurts to press on it and it hurts if she tries to sit up. It doesn t seem to cause her a lot of pain but Im wondering if I should take her in anyway. Only the ER is open here now.
about your question i would like to tell you that this complain refer almost for having gastritis that cause abdominal pain sensation of your daughter..........your daughter feeling of these symptoms should not make you worry as it is common problem.........about your response for that ....you should limit drinking coffee or tea for her...... you should avoid her stress and irritability and spicy foods because these will get symptoms worse.......you should also avoid her any hot drinks or food as it will cause irritation of your stomach.. ........you can give her rantidine or omeprazole to decrease gastric acidity and if improvement not occur and this lead us to think about intestinal infection or adominal problems that need ultrasound scan..............tsimply give her rantidine and wait for hour if symptoms not imroved refer to er to do ultrasound scan..............also dont give ger any medications that make it worse like analgesics or antipyretics except described by specialist............
wish you daughter healthy life
