What Causes Stomach Ache In A Child While On Relent?

Hi doctor, My kid is 4 year old and she got viral fever a week back with cold and cough. Fever came down using Meftal-p as she had 102 temperature. But cold and cough are not getting reduced. We are giving her Relent (Syrup of Cetrizine Hydrochloride and Ambroxol hydrochloride ). Since 2 days she is not eating anything as she is not feeling hungry and passing loose stools. Also she have stomach pain. Can you please let me know why this stomach pain could cause and also let me know the proper medicine?? Can we use nasal drops for kids and if yes for how many days Thanks in advance

Hi,

She might be having lower respiratory tract infection so should be reviewed by a pediatric specialist. Since high grade fever with chest symptoms and diarrhea needs work up for atypical pneumonia or any bacterial or viral illness.

She may need fluid, antibiotics as well as anti inflammatory drugs like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen along with anti histamines like Cetirizine as she is taking it already.
