What Causes Stomach Ache And Diarrhea?

Hi i have been having stomach pain for a few days. It starts & stops every now & then & is accompanied by diarrhea. I have fatty liver & the pain situation generally aggravates whenever I eat out. My chemist suggested I take 5 day course of OLOX-OX to kill the infection. I have taken it for 4 days now. I usually take doctor s opinion before taking antibiotic but missed it this time. The medicine has been causing major burning sensation in the body. Want to make sure if I have taken the right treatment as pain still keeps coming back once in a while

Hi,

As per your query you are having symptoms of stomach ache and diarrhea which seem to be due to food poisoning/ acute gastroenteritis caused by viral infection and electrolyte imbalance in the body.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate yourself. Take banana on a daily basis and light food. Avoid taking any sharp and spicy food. The medication you are taking is fine. However, if symptoms keep on persisting you should visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined. You should go for blood tests as well and start treatment after proper examination. You should start treatment with a combination of fluoroquinolones and ornidazole.
