What causes stinging knee pain radiating to the ankle and heel?

The past day or so , when I standup from sitting, I sometimes get a quick sting pain from behind my right knee that goes to to just under my inside ankle bone on the heel area. Then it feels like my heel is in a bench vice and clutches for a good 15 seconds or so.

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to musculoskeletal injury.

Symptomatic relief can be obtained by heat therapy, application of analgesic & muscle relaxant gel, intake of analgesics like Diclofenac (to be taken after food) + Pantoprazole (to be taken 30 minutes before meals).

Supplements of Calcium & Vitamin D can be included in your diet which will help in strengthening of bones.

If symptoms still persist, kindly consult an orthopedician for proper clinical examination. Investigations like X-ray & MRI of the knee joint will be helpful in detecting any pathological cause for the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
