What Causes Stiffness In The Neck?

I have intermittent neck stiffness, from behind right ear to lower rt neck/shoulder. Impossible to turn head when it hits, comes in waves and then goes away, lasting 5-10 mins. happened infrequently over last few months, now happening daily 2-3x. Mike

Hello dear
I understand you concern
Your symptoms could be due to muscle spasm, cervical nerve compression.
I would suggest to consult the orthopedics surgeon and undergo clinical examination and MRI scan if required.
Doctor will give following advises:
Tablet DAN-MR
Apply volini gel
Apply war pad application
Wear soft cervical collar.
Physiotherapy and cervical traction exercise will helpful
Nerve compresssion require:
Tablet Pregabalin and Methylcobalamine
Do not keep your neck in same position for long time.
