What Causes Stiffness In The Neck, Nausea And Headache?

I have had a stiff neck on and off for 5 days now. When it comes on, its accompanied by a headache and nausea. I have been more tired than usual also and now today I have some pain and tingling in one of my fingers on my right hand and I woke up with a bunch of cold sores in my mouth. Also I am having problems with my memory. It seems like so many different random symptoms I m having, but I m normally a very healthy person. Do I have a reason to think this maybe something serious?

hi,

thank you for providing the brief history of you.

As mentioned by you the history, i will advice to undergo a complete neuromuscular assessment.

Also, the stiffness is neck can be due to multiple factors and the symptoms you have associated with it like headache, nausea, tingling of fingers, cold sores in mouth etc. Until we get the neuromuscular assessment performed it is hard to give you the answer.

Also, once your clinical neuromuscular assessment is done, you may be advised to take an MRI of the cervical spine as you have tingling in the fingers to assess the soft tissue status in the cervical spine.

If any other special clinical test comes positive than based on that the blood sample, urine sample may be advised. Kindly follow the neurologists advice.

Usually, controlling the symptoms becomes easy when the knowledge of the cause is in hand. Patients responds well to cases with a combination of medicine and physical therapy.

For your symptoms of stiff neck and tingling sensation, physical therapy will be advised and usually in my clinical experience patients recover within 2-3 weeks of time.

But, before all of the things, a neurological clinical assessment is a must to come closer to the cause and even the diagnosis,

No condition is big or serious until it is ignored in the initial stages.
