What causes stiffness in calves and tender lump on achilles?

I m a 47 year old male Running boundary line for junior football had to stop half time yesterday as lower calf pain started and noticed tender lump on both Achilles Also now a numbness to ankle area Have done boundary many times without problems but have had stiffness in calves in morning for a minute or so

Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a muscle strain. I suggest to use a muscle relaxant such as Baclofen to help with muscle relaxation. I also suggest to use magnesium supplements. Warm shower can also be helpful in relieving the symptoms.
