What Causes Sticky Stools While On Medication For Constipation?

My 6 year old son has been constipated for 12 days on Monday the gp gave him lactulose,Senna and suppositories to help. By today he has finally been able to open his bowels and pass a good amount of stools however the stools were very sticky I am just wondering if this is normal and what my next steps should be

I share your concern
During constipation stool get mixed with mucus and epithelial cells as well as it becomes hard and sticky

so you need not to worry
once the bowel will be evacuated completely, the subsequent stool will be alright
in case if it persists please consult your doctor for stool test for fat cells it could be related to steatorhoea

You should give him multivitamin supplements
lots of fluids and fresh fruits like papaya grapes and citrus fruits
